anyone every try making nappy wraps (diaper wraps) from raincoat fabric?

I'm thinking of making some nappy wraps as the ones I bought are starting to fall apart already - do you think raincoat fabric would be OK?

lots of folks use Ultrex, an inexpensive waterproof breathable.
