booties

I downloaded the Wild Things demo, and want to make the booties using Polar Fleece. Question is, the bottoms will be really slippery. Any suggestions on how to fix that? TIA Sharon

Use Naugahyde or that gripper fabric they sell for the bottoms of baby booties, or else put a pattern of fabric paint or Shoe Goo to make them more skidproof.

suggestions

Looks like the dotted rubbery stuff on the bottom of the little kids sleepers feet. Use the bottom piece of the bootie to cut it out, you can sew it on or use the "ok to wash it" fabric glue to attach if you think the seam allowance will be too bulky with that included (trim off seam allowances if gluing)

Puffa paint? That fabric paint that puffs up and is all rubbery when you blast it with a hair dryer or iron it...

Sorry I lost the original post, which asked about non-slip solutions. I bought Jiffy-Grip (tm) by the yard a few years ago (at Hancock's, I think). Works fine. DIL was 8 months pregnant, no way was I going to give her fleece slippers without it!

The stuff I had a couple of years back was bought in Dainty Supplies in Washington New Town, Tyne & Wear. I could also get it in Maidstone here in Kent, but it was more expensive. High street price rather than warehouse price! Look up Dainty on my fabric list (url for web site below) and give them a call to see if you can still get it.

First, a plea for bottom-posting! Please add your follow-ups to the bottom of the post you're following rather than to the top, especially if the last post in the thread was bottom-posted. It makes it so much easier to read.

Have you tried your local art shop? Mine keeps Tulip fabric paints and I think they do a dimensional one that puffs up when you heat it. If not them, what about Hobbycraft?

If you want to mail order it, George Weil sell it:

and so do Fred Aldous:

John Lewis used to sell fabric printed with little dots of rubbery plastic stuff designed for the bottom of slippers. It came in a small package and was quite expensive.
