coverstitch skipping stitches

hi everyone,

my coverstitchmachine Bernette Funlock, 009 is skipping stitches when sewing the chainstitch. I've tried on the spandex fabric the following :

  1. change the needle , stretch needle #70, extra sharp needle microtex #70 normal needle 80
  2. tension from 0.7 to N and even 1,5 (thread)
  3. tension of the foot from N to heavy
  4. tension of the under thread from L to H

there are still 8 or less nice stitches and than one long, about 4 mm stitch(3/8") what to do? I don't like the stretchstitch on my SM, it's too high in a shirt like this. That's why I decided to make the stitch on the chain-way and than a smal finish on the serger.

The other possibility IMO is to make a small normal stitch and than serger stitch with stretch modulation.

what do you think?

Try Super Stretch needles.
