Can any of you ladies (& gentlemen) please point me in the direction of some easy patterns for fleece/felt booties and cotton jersey scratch mitts. Much appreciated Jane

Well, if I were going to look for some, I would do a Google search for
free +bootie +sewing +pattern
or something similar. Or you can check sewing.about.com; they have a listing of free patterns somewhere there that is pretty easy to find every time I want to go look at it.

Kwik-Sew! :) I think the Sewing for Babies book has things like this in. You would have to buy it, but their books and patterns are worth it.
