Good fabric purchases today

Just a quick boast . I was working a market this morning when I spotted a new stall......... Fabric !!!! The bloke was selling mixed fabric, by mixed I mean that some was cheap and shoddy some was very good. I resisted the lovely black wool coat weight on the grounds I have 6 metres of lovely wool that still is waiting to be made into a winter coat it was hard work to ignore it tho'. I did come away with two bolts of fleece, one of pale pink windblock and the other navy blue deep pile fleece, I also got 15 metres of cotton khaki stripped with pink orange and mauve and 2 metres of lime green linen all for the wonderful price of 40 euros. Oh yes it's a good day .

Sounds like a fabulous buy! Congratulations. Emily

I have washed all the cotton and cut of 5 metres of the pink to get it through the washing machine as I am dying to get some made up . As the navy blue is relay for the end of the year it can stay on the bolt as can the other 15 metres of pink. Now to ironing and cutting out.

Oh and yesterday afternoon I got going on the appliqué on some of 30 odd dresses I cut out last week, it seems buying fabric (combined with the lovely spring sunshine) has kicked me back into gear.

Isn't it great when you come across some good fabric!! Barbara in Florida

Wow! You sure are kicked into high gear!!! That fabric sounds awesome. Can't wait to see what you do with it. ;) That wool coating would have been hard for me to resist too. I'm still aging a black cashmere/wool blend coating myself. I just haven't found THE coat design yet, and I don't want to waste this stuff. *sigh* Maybe by next Fall I will find THE design. ;)

Yes my camel/caramel wool is still waiting for the "perfect" pattern to come along
