good use for old wedding gown material?

Jan 09, 2009 3 Replies

I've heard about the christening dresses etc. An other ideas? Yards and yards of Italian silk have fallen my way. Dye it and make throw pillows?

Thanks.

I am no seamstress - have a machine but it's only for stuff like curtains and mending.

Is it yardage or made-up-gowns?

Besides christening gowns, people make ring-bearer pillows, bridal hankies, prayer-book covers, no-one-but-the-bride-knows petticoats, etc. of heirloom wedding gowns.

I gave mine to my oldest daughter and she's giving it to her oldest daughter. It has a life of it's own. juno
