hem t-shirt

Please help me remember the tricks. A friend of mine is going to a big deal football game this weekend. She has a team shirt But says it is dress length. I haven't shortened a knit shirt in decades. I sort of remember that I used to iron on a skinny strip of light-weight interfacing *Before* cutting to prevent a wobbly lettuce hem. Any other thoughts?

Oh my WOW. Thank you so much. I needed that. I just might go shorten every t-shirt in the closet. I've marked as a favorite and will try all three methods. Sooo grateful. Polly

I found it yesterday while browsing for some tee shirt patterns. There is also a very a very good tut on how to match up fabric, to pattern size.

Down and done. I took the method I used to be familiar with and did a neat job - but, when I have time to toy with the serger settings, I really want to try the other techniques. Can't thank you enough. Polly
