I want to get some silk for neckties. There are no fabric stores in my area so I do most of my buying on line. I think silk comes in different weights so I'm not quite sure what to look for.
I would welcome any suggestions on the type of silk I need and also any websites where it might be available. Thank you in advance for your help.

You need necktie silk, or silk rep. The only place I know to get undyed silk ties for painting is dharmatrading.com. It carries many kinds of silk blanks on which you can paint or dye. Try googling necktie silk and see if you get anything.
