In praise of cotton thread

Sep 02, 2006 1 Replies

Many of you know I normally use cotton thread to sew all natural fibers. This morning, dashing into the kitchen, I caught the pocket of my rayon pants on the doorknob. Rrrrrrrriiiiiiiip!!

However, as I had used cotton thread, it, rather than the fabric, gave way. Five minutes at the sewing machine, and the pants are as good as new again. I doubt if that would have been the case with polyester or nylon thread.

There are some advantages to being fussy! ;)
