Trish asks:

Yes, by a large majority, although that will change over the next 10 years or so. Federal laws are mandating lower water use, and unless the top loaders get a heck of a lot more efficient, there won't be any for sale.

I can't imagine this, unless the toploaders there are way different from ours. My front loader holds about 1/3 more than my old machine did, and it doesn't get unbalanced if I throw in 10 pair of jeans like the front loader did, no matter how I fiddled with it.

And no matter how full I cram the washer, it does a fabulous job, using 1/2 the water and soap, in 2/3 the time, for 2/3 the electricity, and with 1/2 as much water left in the clothes to dry out. What's not to like?

hi karen.. i agree with you regarding the front loader...i have the kenmore version adn love it! its uses 16.2 gallons of water a wash, my old GE used 43! since we are on well water and have septic, using less water is such a good thing.... betsey "we do not inherit the earth, we caretake it for our children"
