Janome 5124 timing adjustment

I tried to sew a double layer of fleece the other day, and the machine jammed. Tried to sew some strapping yesterday, and it seems the timing is off now. Being newly unemployed, I'd like not to be shelling out a lot of bucks to get the timing set on this thing whenever it goes out (second time in 11 years, but, what the heck).

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the timing on this? Or a source for a manual. I tried finding a manual online, but, when I drilled down to the actual document, it said it was no longer available.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

First, put in a new needle and then compare it to:

of the "out of time" machines I see are either dirty, bad or backwardsneedle, or misthreaded.

Put in a new needle the correct way and try it on some normal fabric. If it sews then there is no timing problem just you asking to much from the machine.
