Thank you. I'll be fun to wear.

The 2nd of my three grandsons received his Political Science degree from George Washington University today. Yoo-Hoo!

I wasn't able to attend because of my back/right hip problems and the amount of walking that was necessary; so I have to be satisfied with pictures of the event and other activities he's planned. He and his girl friend are having a barbeque tomorrow afternoon to introduce the parents to one another. She is from Kennebunk Port, Maine and he grew up in FL.

He will be joining the Teach for America program this fall in an inner-city Baltimore, MD school, ; after which he will return to GWU for his law degree. Needless to say, I am proud of him.

Sorry to read that the old bones are acting up; but the success of your grandson atones for a lot. So: Nothing wrong with bragging. Congratulations! ;-)

Thank you, Ursula. Yes, I am very proud of all my grandchildren. Three have graduated from college and another will finish in June 2012. Emily

Hi Emily,

In another group that I read and post to on a regular basis, I was just about to drop you in my killfile along with all the other crossposters I was killfiling when I realised that you are a regular here.

The other group I read and post to regularly has, in effect, been spammed by all the crossposts as none of the regular posters in that other group respond or otherwise engage in the threads that have been crossposted.

I don't want to have you disappear from all groups given that you are a regular here, but is it possible for you to please cut alt.sixtyplus out of your crossposts please?

Regards

Fran.

Farml, alt.sewing is the only group I post to, or even read, therefore you will not see any cross-posting from me. I am sorry you mixed me up with someone else. Emily

Emily, I checked all your recent posts "here" and I never discovered a cross-post in any of them. I wonder if some ne'er-do-well such as Red Dog is spoofing your nym? That happened to me a while back.

It must be something like that, Beverly; I can not figure anything else like it. I have a few time posted to the alt.sewing-machine embroidery, but that's been a while back. To tell you the truth, I do not know how to cross-post. I've been using a computer for almost 30-years, both in the classroom and at home, but I'm still not what a person would call "really computer literate". Right now, I am struggling with moving photos from Facebook to I-Photo, so I can send out a few of my DGS's graduation to friends who are not on Facebook. DS just told me, he will show me tomorrow evening.

When you responded to Kate's post on another thread, you cross posted to Newsgroups: alt.sewing,alt.sexual.abuse,alt.showbiz.gossip,alt.sixtyplus

Your message was: "I agree with this statement 100%. Thank you, Kate. Emily"

I didn't see Emily's post in that thread, apparently my filters are a little too active. :-(

I have also been caught "crossposting" when I respond to someone else's message and fail to notice all the cross postings in the "To:" line.

Joanne, I don't understand how I cross-posted, if that is the case. I wrote the one simple sentence to agree with Kate on alt.sewing and to no other group.

I've been on alt.sewing ever since I got online some 15-years ago and have answered posts to you, like tonight, to Kate, to Beverly, Juno, Sharon and others; but never has something like this has come up.

If everytime I answer a post, I have to worry about it being cross-posted to some other group. I will not answer another one, like I am doing yours. Thank goodness, I know most of your individual addresses, and I can answer there, I suppose.

I don't even read other sites and never knew some of those you mentioned even existed.

Thank you, Beverly, was that it? I am completely frustrated over this. I've had some very personal family issues on my plate recently, that have been very upsetting and now to add this accusation has just added to the whole thing.

Like you, I never see those other sites because of filters, so I was unaware of them. I will be more prudent to whom I answer in the future. Emily

Can your newsreader be set to warn you when you are posting to more than one group? The information may be buried deep in the help files.

I am not sure, Joy. DS will check it out this weekend. He was out of town, in DC attending my DGS's graduation when this happened.

Hi Emily,

I'm sorry if you see my request as an 'accusation'.

It was not meant that way. I sent you a request because of your crossposting. You may not be aware that you were doing it but you were. I didn't want to killfile you like I'd done with other people who crosspost as I know you are a regular here and I also read here.

Since you don't seem to know how this crossposting could have happened, you can check to see if you are 'crossposting', by looking at the line of your message that says where the message is going to when you do a reply.

Normally, that line would show that you are only posting to alt.sewing. If you are crossposting, that line will show more than one group such as the list that Pogonip mentioned.

HTH.
