I am trying to locate some upholstery fabric for a couch I bought about 10 years ago. I'd like to have the cushions recovered.

If you live near a city that has a few upholstery shops, I suggest you take one of your cushions and go to them and try to match your fabric. That particular type of print is very common, but each manufacturer has it's variations. And usually what happens is that the furniture maker commissions or buys the rights to the fabric, so if it's a "LazyBoy" or "Broyhill" or "Ethan Allen", then it can't be sold unless through them. And two years is about all they keep a selection on hand. (They want you to buy new stuff) And then you have to consider dye lots and aging. Good luck. Perry
You can try
Although, I will tell you right now, most firmly, you will likely not get an exact match. What you will get is close, but not faded like the rest of your 10 year old couch. Trust me, it's faded. Sunlight, wear from regular use, if you had it steam cleaned any time in the last 10 years, etc.
What I would suggest you do, is look around for upholstery fabric that you like and get enough to have the Whole couch recovered. Trust me you will be much happier that way.

Thanks very much for the info. How do you think I should describe this for search purposes? They've got many categories and terms at that site. It's sort of overwhelming.

I suggest you go to a reupholsterer that has books from several different fabric suppliers such as Robert Allen, Kravet, Barrow,Covington. It is a tedious job to go through all the books but this particular fabric was fairly popular and I'm sure it is still available. I know our factory has used this fabric before for custom orders but since we don't buy the fabric, I don't know where it came from. Several of the upholstery fabric supplies have web sites with photos of the fabrics. I believe Fabric Cut is one and J.Ennis in Canada is anouther. Good Luck Linda G. Vitalia Sofa Design Inc. This was very helpful advice; thank you (and everyone) very much.
