Need help finding fabric

On the cover of this months (January 2007) "McCall's Quick Quilts" there is a darling gingerbread man applique piece. I just love it. However, I cannot find the "candy" fabric anywhere! Or anything even closely resembling it. Has anyone seen it in their online travels, or something I could use in it's place?? TIA.

Patti-

I looked online for the magazine cover. It looks like a red and white peppermint stripe for the candy cane? Is that what you need? I found this fabric in my stash-

The area that looks pink is actually very narrow red stripes. Would this fabric work for you? Let me know!

Ahhhh - Leslie, you're such a doll.... I reckon I could have been a little more clear. I'm looking for the border print. It has a blue background, with wrapped peppermints and candy canes on it - I can't even find anything with peppermints on it!! Thank you so much for the offer though....

Here are two fun places to look. There's The Christmas Cloth Store (lots of good stuff) and Ann's Sewing Basket. Ann's has Christmas fun fabrics on sale even. Always happy to enable. Polly

I saw fabric with wrapped peppermint candies on it in Hobby Lobby not long ago. It might be one of the fabrics that are printed especially for them though.

Well Leslie, we must have slapped ourselves upside the head simultaneously.....lol. Yes, the background fabric is what I'm looking for. After hunting relentlessly for something that would work, I've decided it's ridiculously difficult to find blue Christmas fabric. There's just tons of every shade of green, gold, silver, red and even black, but very little blue. Interesting...... Thanks so much for your help. I'll keep you posted.

I added two moe photos of fabrics that might work for you, altho they aren't really candy fabrics..... Oh well. I tried! =A0 LOL Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.

Polly, Polly, Polly.... Have you been keeping the "Christmas Cloth Store" a secret? What a perfectly delicious site!! Although I didn't find the "candy" fabric there, I found about 400 other things I fell in love with!! I just LOVE Christmas fabric!!! Thanks for the info.

Thank you Ms P! We don't have Hobby Lobby here, but I'm thinking they do where my mom lives.

If I had a HL close I'd go look for you but my HL is an hour away. I don't get there all that often but it hasn't been all that long since I was over there and I remember seeing the candy fabric.

Stephanie! Bless your wonderful heart!!! The very first one is exactly what I'm looking for. I've never done Ebay in my life, but perhaps I should muster up my courage and give it a try. Thank you SO SO much!
