Ooops I've bought another machine

I couldn't resist buying another machine. It was only £2 and quite pretty as most of the decals are still there. It's a Frister & Rossman dating from 1901-1914.

I think it's a vibrating shuttle machine. It's got the cutest little bobbins.

I'm not sure that I'll use it for sewing. I've hardly even used the Singer yet. Perhaps I ought to go cut some fabric...

Any tips or hints about this machine would be welcome.

clean GENTLY with a soft cloth and some sewing machine oil, and oil all the places that it says to in the manual. if you have no manual, TO members may be able to help with that too. :)

Hi Anne - Cutting fabric is good but not mandatory. Think of your machines as art - sculpture actually - and they ARE! Don't you think they are beautiful??? Set them around so you can look at them. If you sew with them its a bonus!

I've signed up with Treadle On and I'm looking forward to hearing what goes on there.

In the short term I think I'll be following Chris's advice and putting it on display - if only 'cos I've no cupboard space!

Oh, very pretty! Very like my Jones in character.

See ya there! :) I mostly lurk, but it's nice to add to the discussions at times.

Oh, no - USE it! They love to be used! :) My Jones has the smoothest stitch.

It IS a beauty! I didn't mean don't use it - I meant put it where you can enjoy seeing it when you aren't using it!
