Bought a new Machine!

I just bought a new sewing machine after a couple weeks of investigating. I pick it up this morning - Yeah!!! I finally decided on a Pfaff 2042 (second hand sold by the Pfaff dealer). He said he knows the lady who owned it...that she owns about 6 machines and hardly used this one in favor of her embroidery machines. I havn't read a single bad review on it and everyone seems to LOVE theirs. So, I think it will suit my needs perfectly. And it has the integrated walking foot and tons of other features that my old Singer didn't. I know I paid more than similar ones on e-bay but I am getting a warranty and dealer backing....so I don't feel slighted. We found and reported so many fraudulent sewing machine listings on e-bay this past weekend that you couldn't even believe!!!! Red flags really go up when top of the line machines are "Buy it Now" priced for $200 with free overnight shipping....from Romania! These sellers hijack legitimate accounts. E-bay pulls their listings immediately and then by mon. morning they are re-listed with another hi-jacked account. Some that even looked legitimate turned out being fraud....so I finally went with my local dealer (about 30 miles away). Anyway, again....Yippee - I got a new machine!!! Joy in Michigan

Pfaff are excellent. I don't like them because they don't fit my fingers, but they are good machines! :)

That warranty and a good after sales team are worth the extra! :)

If it looks too good to be true, it is! Caveat emptor every time! Ya done good, missiz! :D

Hopefully my fingers won't ever know if they "fit" or not - ouch!!

Pfaff is the only make that has ever threatened to sew a finger! Mostly it's just that the controls are very precisely placed just exactly where my fingers fail to find them!
