OTIrene in the Mid Hudson Valley

We have rain, rain and more rain. some Thunder and some wind.Water in the basement because the ground is so saturated. The creek in our back yard looks like it's taking over some of the yard and is running like Niagara Falls. We're not concerned about the creek though because it's doing what it always does with extreme rain. We are watching though. There are deer in the back yard, munching on the grass. Save having to mow. We're fine, lots of books to read. If we lose power my dinner is cooking now and the phone automatically switches over to the cell phone. Cape Cod has sun right now we just heard. Go figugre. Juno

I am happy to know you all are okay. And it's a blessing that New York City escaped the brunt of what could have been a major disaster.

Looking out the window and seeing deer eating the grass has to be a good sight this morning. Emily

Whew! I'm so happy to learn you survived the big storm intact. As I was watching the weather channel yesterday, I kept thinking about all the wonderful places we visited in '07, and hoping they all remain undamaged as well.

------------------------------------- I, too, live in Mid-Hudson Wallkill/Middletown off Scotchtown. And boy did we suffer! What with the Wallkill River and those swampy Black Dirt farms, it looked like the Great Lakes area!

That's an area that is so prone to flooding from the Wallkill River. I hope you dry out soon. Juno
