Pattern for wrap

I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction - I'm looking for a pattern for a wrap that not as bulky as a cape or poncho, but more than a stole. I'd seen one in a catalog, but have lost it.

It sort of hugged your shoulders, covered your back and had two front patch pockets. No buttons, if I remember. No collar.

I'm sure it is just a modified stole, but a pattern or measurements would be soooo helpful.

Thanks !

One of my sisters makes wraps that are simply pieces of fabric twice as long as you'd like to wear and 45 inches wide. She is tall and hers are about 90 inches long. She cut straight up half the length and hemmed around the edges. She wears hers with the opening in front and wraps one side around the neck, like an extral long scarf. I forget the correct name, but we saw them for sale at a department store and she decided she could make them easily. Like so many families, she makes something for each of hers and one year, all the daughters & grand daughters received these, while the men & DGS received scarves to match. Emily

Isn't that a ruana?

I have one of those in polar fleece and it's really cozy.

Yes, Melinda, ruana is the correct name. OT: My paternal DGM was named Melinda, so everytime I see one of your posts, it brings a smile to my face, thinking of her. Emily

I have also made many of these, mainly as gifts. Sometimes I bind them all the way round, or sometimes just fray the edges, if it's wool, strengthen the back neck with a triangle of leather, and fringe the bottom edges. I've tried cashmere, polar fleece, mohair and velvet, and they've all worked. I keep my cashmere one in the office and use a polar fleece one as a bed jacket. Mine have all been square at the bottom, but I recently saw some with rounded edges, and that looks worth a try.
