I am teaching a niece to sew from 2,000 miles away. Decided I needed help. Remembered your rec. for Reader's Digest book. I even remembered that the older editions may be better. Thank you so very much. Polly



That's a great book, even after all these years of sewing I still refer to it once in a while. Good luck with your niece.

True, the Reader's Digest Complete Guide to Sewing is a real treasure; however, I have to say that the Burda sewing book has a very nifty method to insert a facing into a top with narrow shoulders which is, IMHO, superior to the one in RD. I always wanted to scan the pics and translate the instructions for everybody's benefit. Well, perhaps a good idea I didn't; might have been a breach of copyrights, now that I come to think of it...
