Ursula! You inspired me to make a creative repair to a nasty OOPS!
However, repairing this one actually made the garment *better*. ;-D

Of course I'm not Ursula, but dang girl, you are just too dang smart. Lovely!
Very clever catch. Well done on your sideways thinking.

Thanks, "Necessity is the mother of invention". ;-}
Thanks! It would have been more clever to have avoided the error at all, but... ;-}
Also, this sort of thing is exactly why I do not sew for clients. I can make those errors and corrections on my *own* projects, on others', not so much.
Thanks, I'm looking forward to the next hot spell.

Thank you for that compliment! :-) I'm so flattered! ;-) Anyway, the embroidery is just what the caftan needed to make it special. How fortunate that you can make such good use of your embroidery machine. To be honest, in that dark fabric, I probably would have been satisfied to close the nick with that zigzag V in the matching colour. But the way you did it, it's so much nicer and really nobody will notice it.
U.
You're welcome. Not flattery, you EARNED it! ;-)
I was afraid the narrow zig-zag over the nick would not hold up to laundering. I could have used a contrasting color for the embroidery, but I had the similar color on hand. It shows up a little better in real life than in my photos.
