I. OTOH, find the pattern drafting software a Godsend. But then, I only sew for me, and don't have any handy female relatives, nor any nearby friends who sew clothing. Most of the sewists I know make only quilts, home dec items or (sometimes) doll clothes, because they have no idea how to fit things, nor any interest in learning. However, once I got dh to help me with measurements, I was able to put them all into the program then make a test garment. I could then "read the wrinkles", and figure out what adjustments needed to be made, fix them, and input the new figures. It is such a blessing to know that once I have my slopers correct I can design a new pattern and know that it will pretty much fit me straight out of the printer, with only minimal adjustments needed.
