I decided to take a big jump and make a tree skirt with embroidered/appliqued designs. I bought a transfer pencil and was told at the time I bought it that I could outline the design, then use my iron to "transfer" it onto fabric. Well, I did this and it didn't work. Obviously I'm doing something wrong. I'm tracing the design onto tracing paper with the transfer pencil, then turning the paper over and ironing it with a hot iron onto muslin. Got any ideas? Has anyone out there worked with one of these, and if so, how did you get it to transfer?
