Do you ever get to Chicago? There is a whole area of Indian culture, and lots of shops. Start at the corner of Western and Devon. Sandy

Thanks Sandy, I am actually going to catch a flight out of there in two weeks. I will check it out. Joy

If you're driving in from Detroit, take the Chicago Skyway to 90/94. (I travel weekly back and forth from Chicago to the Michigan RenFaire in Flint every fall.)

If you take the exit at 22nd street for Lake Shore Drive, you can go north up the lake shore. LSD turns inland and ends about 7 blocks south of Devon. When you get to the end of LSD, turn right and go north on Sheridan Road. There will be a BIIIG curve to the left just off the Loyola University campus, and then a big traffic light. Broadway is on your left, Sheridan continues on your right, and Devon is straight ahead.

After your fabric orgy, you can cut north to Touhy, which will take you out towards the airport. Western Avenue and/or California are in the correct area.

I live on the North Side of Chicago, between the end of LSD and Devon, and I am currently unemployed. E-mail me off-list and maybe we can arrange to meet up and I can play "friendly native guide".
