Serger Question

I just bought a BabyLock serger. I pick it up Wednesday. Any suggestions on a good book on serging, any must have equipment to go with it, any good first project suggestions. Thanks for any help. Gail

Get some of those long pointy tweezers with the angled ends, and a needle inserter dooberry (if it doesn't come with them). A bit catcher is handy too. You might also find a paintbrush handy for de-fluffing the innards.

Some of those dental floss threaders for folks with partials are great for threading loopers. A few nets for the thread - I understand florists get them on certain flowers and just throw them out! So if you know a florist......

As Beverly stated, any book by Palmer & Pletsch, and the DVDs that accompany them are excellent, too. The book I call my "bible" of serging and is always next to my serger is: The Complete Serger Handbook by Chris James, published by Sterling Publishing Co. of New York. The copy I own was copyrighted 1997(I bought it in 1998). My younger DD bought it from Amazon.com earlier this year after I gave her my "little" serger, a Pfaff Hobbylock 776. Emily

Pop over to my web site and have a look at my Book List. I don't sell - these are just reviews.
