Toyote RA72 problems with needle threader

I have just bought a Toyota RA72 and just cannot get the needle threader to work.

It seems to have the right device which as you press down swings the threader V clockwise BUT the hook one one leg of the V does not pass through the eye of the needle so it does not pull the thread back though the eye.

Anyone else have the same problem? Any hints.

I have emailed Toyota as well.

Thank you.

There are few needle threaders that work well all the time. The best one was on the Pfaff 1222 machines with stopmatic. That machine always positioned the needle bar in the correct place so it worked most of the time. But as soon as you bend the little wire they all go to the trash

Just one reason I'll never pay for this feature! Even with my extreme short sight and astigmatism, threading by eye is easier and quicker. I don't even use threaders on the serger.

Hehehehehe... When I bought my mum the Singer 117 Featherweight II a few months back, I thought that she might make use of this feature, as she has cataracts forming... Nah... Just the ole Mark I eyeball, same as me! It's the only irritating thing on that cute little machine. I got it to work by Trying Rally Hard, but she's never managed it and just gave up.

Amen, point and shoot. Foggy eyes and all.

Take it back to your local dealer where you bought it, and the technician should be able to set it right. Sometimes, it's possible to straighten the little hook so it does go through the eye of the needle.

I HATE NEEDLE THREADERS!!

Unfortunately it's too late to call in sick or go away on vacation when someone comes through the door with a machine with a needle threader that has gone south. The 3.25X glasses sure come in handy for trying to make adjustments.

That's me, too, Kate. I can thread my own needles w/out help. Emily
