Well, here's some shots I pulled together. I made the bright blue shirt in the last few shots. Its two different batiks. Hardest part was finding two batiks that would work together. Made another one that was more subdued. Its a "band" shirt. The band folded after two gigs. Honest, I wasn't that bad, well, not really really bad.

if you aren't using a laudrymat, you should be able to turn your washer to different settings. try washing on something besides 'heavy duty' (i should take my own advice here...).

I try. Sometimes "Delicate", sometimes "Permanent Press", but I think the fibers wear more on the tencel. That "polynosic" stuff is a whole lot worse. SHould only be hand washed. It turns into canvas when wet, and I'm sure just abrades away in the washer.
IIRC (I've seen these fabrics at the Puyallup show) the bronze is brown and gold and the burgandy is deep red and black; blue is deep royal and medium green. But you really will want to see samples.
Remember, if it's too much flash for you to be comfortable, consider stuff like insets down sleeves as a possible way to "tame" the fabric.
One of my "one of these years" projects is to piece a drizzle jacket from Silkara. Unfortunately, my other coats and jackets show no real sign of wearing out soon, so the silkara jacket may be delayed. Oh well.
