SRE & the Silk Jacket

Hi Guys, Well, I am doing the final hand work on the silk jacket and will have it finished in a few hours :-). I'll get photos today and then have DH load them onto the ''puter when he gets home. I'm not sure how to do it with the new system. I am sooooo happy to have this project finished -- I hope! I changed the cuff on the sleeves and the fabric I had cut out and prepared wasn't quite long enough any more so I added another TWO different fabrics to the cuffs to make them long enough to go around the sleeve. Anyway, I had bad light when cutting & sewing the new fabrics to the cuffs and didn't notice that one of the pieces of new fabric also has some obvious staining. I'm now trying to decide if it's obvious enough to require a bit of surface embroidery. The piece is about 3" wide and the stain looks like it was along a fold in the fabric so it's pretty much a straight horizontal line across the fabric. I could just embroider an undulating vine, add a few leaves and them some little rose buds and be done. The only problem is that the sleeve & cuff are finished and I don't really have an easy way to hide the "back" of the embroidery. It would have to be on the "inside" of the cuff that is folded up against the sleeve but I guess that would be OK. I could probably do the embroidery with long enough pieces of ribbon that I could just tack down the beginning and ending pieces and hide the rest of it in-between the two sides of the cuff. HMMM yep -- that would work quite easily and not look too ugly even tho' no one will see the back side of the cuff -- LOLOL! The durned thing *IS* folded up against the sleeve and tacked down! I'm so glad we "spoke" -- helped me work through how I would add the embroidery if I decide to do it :-). Who am I kidding?!?!? You guys all know my motto is "Some is good, more is better" - LOLOL! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

You see - you just have to verbalize it and you'll come up with the solution :)

Looking forward to seeing the pictures - it sounds lovely.
