Hi I want to buy an overlocker. There are so many on the market it is very hard to choose. I have been looking at a Jamone 744d does any one have any experiances that they tell me. I have looked at ebay but have found a local stockist. Many thanks and eager to sew Locket

I don't know that particular model. I can tell you, however, that you might want a local dealer so that you get some basic lessons in both threading and operation, and in basic troubleshooting. It's just different enough from a sewing machine that it can be a slightly rough transition between the two machines. While it's possible to teach yourself, it's easier with an experienced person standing by to help.

I love Janomie! I have a Janomie sewing machine and overlocker. I have a costume hire business (make all the costumes). Work for 2 dance studio's and dressmake. I would be lost without these machines! The overlocker never plays up and I have sewn heavy vinyl, foam, lycra.....all sorts of stuff. I also won a state of the art Viking overlocker and loath it (although Kate swears by them). It is gathering dust (I'll trade it in one of these days!) I found it a temperamental and arrogant machine, whereas the Janomie has proven an exceptional work horse...........Amelia
