The earliest I'm sure about is Elias Howe's vertical stitcher... handcranked with gears:

Wish I'd been offered a 25 year warranty on my Brother!

Here in the UK you get 2 years - extended if you pay through the nose.

Most of them are 2 years here in the US as well. It's only certain models that are 25. I wonder what that covers.
