Does anyone make an adaper to mount a scroll chuck on a Shopsmith?
I was told that the Shopsmith uses a 5/8" unthreaded shaft to which you attach a face plate. I thought that a version of a spindle adapter might exist that would allow you to mount a 1x8 (as an example) scroll chuck instead of a faceplate.

I happen to know that the One-way chuck has an adapter for the Shopsmith. Presumably others do too--I would check with the chuck manufacturer or Shopsmith.

Here's a link that shows you the chucks and the adapters, also for the shopsmith.
Wooden Post sells one. I bought one from them and have not had any problems with it. Be aware that you are extending the spindle length by attaching one. Here's the page (no search feature):
Note that they are out of stock, with no idea when they'll get more. They'll have one made for you at a cost of $45.
