If you would like some very large pieces of Mulberry, and live in or near the Las Vegas Nevada area, now is your oportunity!
I was driving home one day, and noticed a hefty tree being cut down. Like most turners, I slamned on my brakes, performed a u-turn in the middle of the road, and nearly caused a traffic accident (well, not really). After talking with the new owner of the property, she said I can take as much as I want, since she was throwing it away anyways. Cool! I grabbed some large limbs and crotch pieces already. The main trunk has been cut down, but is WAY too heavy for me to move. I ruined my chainsaw chain, after cutting about 1/4 way down a steel rod buried in the trunk before I knew what was going on. I don't know how long this rod goes through the trunk.
The main trunk is about 30" diameter, 5-6 feet long. If anyone wants this wood, then contact me at snipped-for-privacy@yahoo.com, and I'll give you the address where it's at. I don't know how long it's going to be there, but I'm presuming that she won't want a big chunk of wood just sitting in her front yard for very long. I'll be more than willing to help move it, but my chainsaw is down for the count for a while. You'll need a gas-driven saw, as there is no electric power running through the house.
