Chain saw sharpener

I got one last year and it works fine. Only thing I'd say is to get extra grinding wheels. Mine broke when I'd done about half a chain. Probably the exception rather than the rule - the replacements done 4 or

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Good advice. My original wheel is still going strong, even after two of my friends used it a lot. If you don't break a wheel, you still know you are going to need to replace it someday. Murphy's law says that if you don't have a spare, you will need it at the worst possible time. The fact that I have a spare accounts for the fact that I haven't needed it.

I bought one when they ran them on sale for $29.00. Seems to work just fine. Doesn't appear to be overly strong but I just take it easy with it.

I tried the HF chain sharpener and decided it wasn't worth the sale price of $30 or so - way to flimsy

leo - it may or may not be a good investment - when I tried one (an orange colored one), it was really really flimsy - my test sharpening worked, but the tool actually annoyed me - personally I'd much rather have a used STHIL sharpener or one of the other ones made out of metal.

It works for me. When I looked into buying a miter saw for woodworking I found that most would flex unless you carefully pulled straight down so I wound up spending much more on a DeWalt. With the sharpener, I don't use it often so I don't mind taking the time to pull it down carefully and I still feel it's faster than a file. Just my humble opinion.
