Thought some of you might like to know about this. Harbor Fright has a great deal on their little bench mounted chainsaw sharpener for $64.99. This one is orange and the brand is Chicago Electric, but it appears identical to the "Nick The Grinder" I bought from them for $89 on sale last year. Make no mistake, this is a light duty machine, not a pro model, and I still use a file most of the time, but it does the job and sure was nice to have a couple weeks ago when I hit four nails in one tree. Anybody know why walnut trees always have the most nails? I rarely hit one in other species, but around here the walnut trees are full of them. The last walnut I got before this one I hit seven nails (buried down inside the wood, not sticking out through the bark where you could see them). The one good thing about walnut is that the metal stains the wood real bad so you can watch for the stains and have a chance of avoiding the nails by the time you get to the bandsaw or the lathe, but my chainsaw thinks it's a metal detector. I'm gonna quit bringing that stuff home.
