Chucks and lathe Temperature

I have 2 questions. I have looked at the Supernova, Talon and Vicmarc chucks. I have a Fisch mini lathe and want to turn bowls, etc. There are advantages and disadvantages for me in all three. Any comments? I am leaning in the direction of the Talon but is there more versatility in the Supernova? Also, I have the Fisch TC 90-100 Mini Lathe. Is it normal for the motor to get hot to the touch? Assume I've been turning for 30 - 45 mins. Lathe is only 2 months old.

(clip) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ It is not abnormal for motors to feel hot after running under load for a while. There should be a "Temperature Rise" stamped into the motor nameplate, to give you some guidance. It is also possible that your motor is defective, and is overheating.

Chucks and lathe TemperatureOne thing to keep in mind is the Vicmarc chuck uses an allen wrench to tighten. My understanding is the supernova key/wrench is $45 to replace as compared to replaceing an allen wrench.
