I have to purchase a few clamps for segmented turning . Cheap ones that is!

Okay, I'll bite. Why are you getting new clamps? If your segments are cut like they are sussposed to be a sting and rubberband will work nicely.

Go over to Napa auto parts and get the band clamps. Those metal ones that you screw to tighten/loosen. They come in about every size from a couple inches up to over a foot diameter. They work great for me...

Hi Keith

I have made long clamps like the ones they used to use on car coolant hoses etc., if you make them out of a few pieces they distribute the clamping force better. I use the metal strapping used on pallets etc. cut lengths, drill holes for stove bolts, bend the ends at 90 degrees, stick in the bolds, wrap around and tighten, and the price is right.

Keith, I use hose clamps like the ones you use on dust collection hoses. If you can find the type that have pivoting quick release screw you can string together

2 or 3 to make large rings. I couldn't find them at Home Depot or Lowes, but found them at Ace Hardware. Dave
