Dust-bee-gone got one

Well, I got it yesterday and have worn it twice..

I don't hate it as much as the respirator or paper masks, so I'm going to make myself wear it..

Following their advice on beards, I put the top strap on the crown of my head.. Since I have a "nohawk" and wear a hat while turning, I prefer this to the over the ear position..

Bottom line is that it's more comfortable, which is a relative thing, and easy to use.. You can talk with it on and though 3 micron (dry) isn't a lot of filtration, it's a lot more than I get by having my good mask in the drawer all the time, since I really hate wearing that..

I haven't tried it wet yet, but with the summers that we get here in Baja, I can see that as a real plus..

Might come in handy if I ever become a bank robber, also.. rofl

Do you happen to wear glasses?? I have been looking for a good face mask that I can wear with my glasses and haven't found one yet. I've heard that Dust-bee-gone is pretty good but I haven't tried it yet. Everything else I have tried to date displaces my glasses.

I do wear glasses although I usually take them off when I am doing anything in the shop as I find I can see better without them than trying to get the right spot on the bifocals. However, I am very good about wearing the safety glasses. I don't find them to be a problem with the Dust B Gone.

there is some fogging but fiddling around with the nose piece keeps it at a minimum.

Yes and no, Wayne..lol I wear glasses for distance, so not on the lathe, but I DO wear safety glasses and once I learned to keep the neck strap loose and the top strap high and loose, (per instructions), my safety glasses don't fog at all.. OTOH, when I had the straps too tight, the nose seal thing did distort and let my glasses for a bit, as the instructions warned..

Oh.. as to displacing your glasses... The instructions also say that the mask MUST be put on before the glasses, so I guess that it wouldn't displace them, if I understand your meaning..

That's sort of my plan, Darrell... I turn several hours a day and have never been able to make my self wear a mask much.. I'm hoping that this one will be wearable and I'll learn to use it sort of like I put a seat belt on before starting the truck..

I've always thought that normal was something to avoid being at all costs..

My goal is to be a local character..

I've had mine for at least 15 years and the reason for purchase was that it was marketed as not fogging glasses. The only time it has fogged mine was when I was wearing it incorrectly - maybe 4 or 5 times in the 15 years.

By displacement I just meant that I can NEVER get my glasses to sit where I can see well. Doesn't matter at all if the mask is put on first or last, my #*(&^#$@ glasses still don't sit right.

Yep.. My safety glasses were fogging up on the bottom of the lenses this morning and I realized that I'd "adjusted" my hat out of some nervous habit and moved the top strap and made it too tight.. that breaks the seal, afaikt..

I think that they will work for you, Wayne.. they don't have that big nose piece that paper and rubber masks have..

If you can, try on one before you buy, $40 is a lot to pay for a mask that you can't wear..
