WoodLathe

Hey Everyone,

I have begun the task of cleaning out my garage, and have gotten awfully tired of tripping over my first Lathe. I have upgraded to a bigger unit, and I was wondering if there is anyone out there that knows of someone in the Edmonton, Alberta area, who is interested in getting into the woodturning hobby and wants a good used lathe. It is a Ridgid monotube, it is in fairly good condition except for the odd glue mark or stain from finishing a project. I tried contacting the local woodturning guild here about 8 months ago, and couldn't get ahold of anyone. So I just left it until now, if you know of anyone please contact me offlist and I can give you more information, as well as pictures if desired.

I live in Ottawa and I frequent two websites that sell used stuff. Used tools is a huge market here.

One is Kijiji. Your local site is

and Calgary has one as well. You might also advertise on Ft Mcmurry, Lethbridge and the others. It's free to advertise. The other one is used.com, in your case
formatting link
It also has a site in Calgary. This site is also free to advertise on.

A lot of guys in the US swear by Craigslist, but I've found it pretty paltry in Ottawa. YMMV

Off list, I'm sending you the names of 2 members of the club in the Edmonton area. They are both Stubby owners (that's how I know them) but they might be able to steer you to somebody who'd like to have your machine.
