I'll looking to get a 2" air sander and I ran into this one from Harbor Freight

I have a 20% off coupon so I could get it for 20$, seems like a hard deal to pass up. Has any one used any Central pneumatics tools?

As always, YMMV. I have used Central Pneumatic tools for my business, and have had different levels of success. Some work very well, offset by those that are total junk.

I think that is pretty much the case with all the HF tools, but the flipside to that is that you certainly aren't paying premium prices for their stuff.

The best thing about HF is that they have a very liberal return policy. If you don't like it, take it back and they will gladly exchange it or give your money back.

Hi Terry,

I've been using this sander for a year or so now to sand the bowls I turn. It's worked very well for me. I'd give it a try. Like nailshooter said, with their return policy if you don't like it right away you can always return it.

I have their die grinder and 2 sizes of brad drivers and they've been great, worth a bit more than the sale prices that I paid for them, IMO.. I bought their small body saw and was disappointed (partly because my compressor really wasn't up to the job), and they let me return it with no hassles..

One quirk about it though. Unless something has changed, since I bought mine, HF doesn't seem to sell 2" sanding discs. I was able to get more from Woodcraft though.

I've been using this item for over a year. I works as well as my $120 pneumatic random orbital sander. Did I mention it's a RO sander, the description fails to mention this significant fact. While you're at it, buy this item

mnumber=95394 . This kit includes a 3" H&L pad and some other attachment you can put to good use.

I run this and my other unit with a 5HP 30 Gal compressor. It doesn't take long to kick-in the compressor. However you can use the sander in "passive mode" till the compressor catches up. Frankly, on some woods I find the passive mode works better.
