Hollowing tool for inboard -outboard Mercury lathe.

BlankI am looking for a hollowing tool that will work with both the inboard and outboard setup of the Teknatool Mercury lathe.

I want to be able to use small 1 - 1.5 inch openings.

Most tools tend to be for inboard turning only and cannot be reversed or assebled upside down (then used reversed on the outboard) so that they will cut on the outboard.

Has anyone came acroos this problem and how did they resolve it. Outboard turnings will give me a little more diameter to work with.

TIA.

Look at my site on tool making and make two tools: one with a straight ahead cutter and one with the cutter off at 45*. This should cover 90% of your hollowing needs. All you have to do to use the 45* outboard is to release the cutter tip and turn it over.
