I need to know the complete procedure to do edge to edge gluing with hand tools; step by step what should I do to get good results and a strong joint. My two surfaces to joint are flat but the pieces are to be joined in an angle (like a V shape) and I do not know how to clamp them together. Please help me ASAP. Thanks.

You didn't say whether the two pieces to be joined are mitered at the glue joint or not. I'm assuming that they are.

Several possibilities.

First, to keep things from slipping, drive several small nails into one of the surfaces which will receive glue. Then clip the heads so that there is 1/8" or so left. When the two surfaces are glued, the nails will keep them from slipping on you and help during the assembly stage since they can be lined up properly before you get out the glue.

Make a jig on a piece of plywood or mdf or whatever scrap you have around. Put two pieces of scrap the proper distance apart so that when the two pieces to be glued are in proper orientation, the other sides of the work will be captive. Then, after you apply glue, you put the two pieces in the jig and apply downward pressure. The scrap pieces will resist the downward pressure and hold the joint at the right angle.
