JET Mini (1014) Conversion to VS

Back in October someone posted here about a conversion (or change over) kit to turn the JET 1014 mini into the JET 1014VS. The part number they gave was #708351VSR. I was wondering if they, or anyone else here, have been successful in actually obtaining this retrofit. The JET reps I have talked to, and customer service at JET, tell me that this is not a valid part number and that no such conversion exists. The customer service person at JET said that if such a conversion existed she would not have her 1014 for sale so that she can buy a 1014VS. If anyone has been successful in obtaining this, maybe you could share with us your source, and how to contact them, so that maybe I (OK, its Christmas, anybody else that is interested can order too) could order the kit from them and have it shipped. Thanks.

Greetings! I work for one of the biggest Jet Dealers in the Midwest. After seeing the original post, I called our dealer support number and inquired as to it's validity. Initially it was thought to be bogus information. However, after pursuing it further, our customer service rep. found a support bulletin that mentioned the upgrade. She also stated that (at least at that time) there were some in stock in one of their warehouses. I don't have any of the specifics regarding price or a customer support number to call for ordering it, but that could probably be obtained from their website -

Hope this helps! Dan

one more possiblity I just picked up a Minarik MAC series VFD - this particualr drive is very cool, not only will it run the usual 3 phase motor, it will also run a 220V motor on 110v, and it will run single phase motors at variable speed (although there are some restrictions, like no separate start winding). I got mine surplus at a very attractive price, but you can check out the series on the minarik website.
