Laser Engraving

Hello All,

I am new to this group and wanted to say hi. I've been turning pens for quite some time now and love it. I have now branched into Laser Engraving as well. If anyone is ever in need of custom engraving of their turned items, just let me know and I'd be glad to work with you. I've custom engraved signatures on the bottoms of bowls and platters. I've also done custom engraving on pens too.

Thank you, Mike DeRegnaucourt

I've had several inquires over the last few years for "company" pens... Woodburning on a pen is useless, so my best idea was to find someone to engrave the clips before I assemble the pens..

Mac, actually I know turners that engrave the body, they have to stick with light colored woods (no walnut), but the results can be excellent.

WAY too much work/skill for me, Ralph.. The last order that I turned down was for 200 pens..

Hello,

Yes, I can engrave pens and pen clips. The pen clips require a special method/technique to engrave (costs a little bit more than just engraving the pen bodies). The letters and/or small graphic would appear black in color on the clip. As for engraving the bodies of the pens, this can be done too. The lighter colored woods have the best contrast. The acrylic type pens (depending on the type of material) will either appear a frosted white color or require coloring filling to bring out a nice contrasting appearance. Either way, they look great! As for color filling, I can do this process as well but costs more. Most customers often just have me engrave the pen bodies and do the color filling themselves.

I can basically do the engraving in pretty much whatever font you would like (i.e. Microsoft Windows fonts). Please keep in mind that some fonts may not look as well when engraved really small.

If you have anymore questions, just let me know. I would be glad to offer my services to my fellow turners.

Best Regards, Mike DeRegnaucourt
