A friend of mine bought a lathe. A real nice one actually. A general 20 incher variable speed. He has used a lathe all his life. So his house was already over filled with vases, boxes and of course bowls. And it all is a bunch of near useless crap. His wife doesn't want, no, forbids him from making more, ahem, art.
I think some people in woodworking get so wrapped up in making stuff they fool themselves into thinking something is good and usefull. Mainly to justify the direction and the extreme that they go in.
Lathes are easy because you get a near finished product.
Ah well, like I should talk. I guess it goes hand in hand with many a hobby. A desire to be useful or important.
Now, lets see, what will I fool myself about tonight? Opps, better not say here.
