I think I have an old sears model - no numbers - 1945 or 46 model (Dads).
What is the part number issue - 56160 - what is it - and I guess it is in the

Mine didn't have a rest assembly - it was lost in shipping from N.C. to Ca. in
1949. In 55 we had a neighbor that was learning to weld. He welded one up for us - 1/2" steel across the ways and 1" verticle bar. =====>You might try a later model monotube lathe, if there be such. It might well have the same tightening assembly. Failing that, you could probably find a bolt with threads that matched (or use a tap and create one) and cobble something together to effect the same thing!
