Raincoat?

Why is it you never have a raincoat or umbrella when you need one? I rough turned a box elder bowl from a tree that had only been cut a couple of weeks. Blanks were cut and end sealed. Talk about wet! Sap was going everywhere. All over the lathe......wall....ceiling.........me........at least I was encouraged to wear a face shield.

I'll bet there wasn't a lot of dust or fine shavings hanging in the air, either.. *g*

You left part of the information on this wood out though, Barry... How wide WAS your grin while you were turning it?? Mac

There was absolutely no dust in the air........go figure! My grin was pretty wide, even though this batch of Box Elder has practically no red coloration. It sure does turn nicely though. I have a whole log of the stuff that I cut into 10 fairly large blanks. Two down, eight to go.

I has a huge bee hit my face shield one time in OR and break it... scary time getting to the side of the road with a cracked, yellow shield.. Mac
