I assume you mean the Flame Box Elder wood instead of just plain ol' Box Elder? I have three trees of it that I harvested almost last year and cut it up into rough turning blanks (4 pallets full up to 6' high). I sold a few blocks and was lucky enough to see some great turnings made from "my" wood by area turners. I've made a few small things out of it simply because I couldn't resist working with it myself. The pen blanks, about 80 of them, are probably dry by now but the rest of it is still green.

I'm afraid it'd take a lot to make me part with it even if I were hard up enough to let it go anymore . I don't know of a supplier that regularly stocks large sizes (I've got a couple of pieces that would make a 20" bowl) and quantities though. I'd imagine most woodworking/turning/carving stores could at least order it for you.

Actually, I just turned a small limb of one of those trees 2 nights ago that I found in the woodturning shop while cleaning (just part of it anyway ). The flame color was in the very center and didn't much make it into the endgrain hollow form. Had some bluestain though. Looked good. Turned well.
