Taking the plunge on a DVR

Dec 20, 2003 3 Replies

Hi. Well, I'm flagrantly spending (at least) 150% of my lathe-and-associated-kit budget, originally planned around a Record CL3, in favor of a Nova DVR. Gulp. This is primarily because, in response to my posting here about it, Richard Raffan was cool enough to take the time to email me some friendly advice, which I feel it would be just silly to ignore :-) The lathe should be set in shop within the next few weeks. So you'll probably start hearing more from me in the next few months :-) I'm going to have to get competent fast and sell some stuff to level the $cales now. So, uh... hi! Just thought I'd get that off my chest :]

Peace, Sanaka

You sure you want to take the enjoyment out of your new toy by putting that kind of pressure on yourself?

Enjoy, and let the dollars come as they care.

I'm sure I don't, but that's reality for ya'. In real reality, I'll use my established cabinetmaker's skills probably more than my developing turning ones. It's just right in my situation that I make up the differential of what I planned to spend vs. what I spend, and I'm happy to do that! :-)

Dollars have always shown that they care not one bit about coming my way - I've pretty much had to tackle them after long pursuit :-)

Peace, Sanaka
