Sorry for the delay folks. I tried all the suggestions about the electrical fault on my Myford Mystro to no avail.
I then contacted Myfords and they suggested exactly the same thing. I told them I had tried all of them so they advised me to bring the whole thing to their factory.
Luckily I live in Nottingham only about six miles from their factory so I may end up doing that. I will let you all know if I do and what the fault was for future reference to group members.
