Using "the other half"

I paid for the whole tool, including the entire bevel and all of its edge, but I seem to use only about half of what I bought. Are any of you using asymmetrically ground and sharpened tools to get better or different use out of "the unused half"?

Probably a silly question, but its too hot to think clearly here today!.

Arch,

I know what you mean. I think I use the right side more for roughing and on the outside of a bowl and the left side more on the inside of a bowl. I also think that side use is naturally more even in spindle work.
