It'll darken slightly, but I wouldn't call that discoloration. As for foodsafe, ever see the honey in the store with the comb still in it? Didn't you chew that stuff as a kid? Is it just me? Dave in Fairfax

Not a problem being foodsafe in general although there could be issues with
*some* people that could be sensitive to it. There's always somebody allergic to something (wife is deathly allergic to Nutra-Sweet). If you're going to be selling it or giving it away just be sure to let people know what finish you used.Beeswax will collect dust and fumes so it'll discolor slightly, maybe, over a long time. If the item will actually get used (as in a bowl), the beeswax will not stay long enough for that to be an issue.

No, not just you. I keep meaning to buy some of that, and I keep being too cheap to pay $8 for a jar of honey.
I used to *love* that stuff when I was a kid.
Yeah, me too. Sure makes it hard to buy sugarless gum.
Or "diet" anything. My sympathies.
